22 YEARSSSS!!!

... parents' anniversary last 2 months!
decided to actually surprise them. so i knew the whole household loves this cake : Mille Crepe from Malacca.
the mastermind of the surprise : me.
the financial supporter : my brother.
i just couldn't help it but ask a dear friend of mine to help deliver it from Malacca to my home.

as usual, it was a Friday and i had BK class. i told my bro the whole plan on Thursday night and he agreed to it. told him to wait patiently for the cake to arrive and pay for it.

however, his futsal game was wayyyyy more important, he decided to leave the $$ to mommy and tell her that he "ordered some clothes for himself. it'll be arriving soon. here's the money. please pay to the guy who'll deliver my clothes."
mom gave a long lecture : "you're already going off and your luggage has no space. why buy more clothes when you can't bring them in your luggage?!?!"
bro just kept quiet and said he needed to leave for futsal.

i didn't know what was happening. i left it to bro to do what's best. i got so shocked when he texted while i was in class. i just went like : !@#$%^&*
ohmygoodness! mom will surely know and it won't be a surprise anymoreeee!

God definitely knew what i was thinking and the surprise turned out well.
the "delivery guy" came and mom was surprised to see it wasn't a stranger to her, but a very nice guy that turned up. so she really believed that he was the one sending bro's clothes.
but this friend of ours went like : Hello Aunty! Blessed 22nd Anniversary to you and Uncle *dad's name*! Enjoy your day!!

when he handed the cake over, i think mom must've thought : Oh boy! what were my kids up to?
she was just so touched that she began calling once i came out of class.
she went like : So what's this surprise about? are you involved in it?
i went like : ARE YOU SURPRISED?!?
she was : yeah, very much. thank you!!
me : so, mom, can i go out for dinner with my BK classmates? *i'm such good opportunist!*
mom : oh sureeee.
me : alright, mom. have fun. see youuu!

the next surprise was my bro's farewell that i wrote about in my last 2 posts.
all this happened in a span of a week, one after the other. can you imagine how much adrenaline rush was in me?! but i had fun surprising everyone ^^

High School's over!

yes, i officially graduated when i finished my last exam paper : Chemistry.
will have my high school memories all treasured in this heart of mine. ^^
the next day, i went to visit my favourite shopping mall and left many footprints all over.
and then, online, facebook, and catching up with friends.

the funny thing was : all this while i've been ever wanting to empty my full bookshelf and when it was finally time to do it, it took so much strength for me to start getting them into boxes, and then separating those trial papers to recycle them by using them for printing purposes, and then saving some notes coz they're so precious like that!

i'm so glad my room is cleaner now! :p

and today is just a rest day. perfect.

An Eventful Weekend!!

we had 3 days of holidays last week due to the 1Malaysia Day that falls on friday :)
thus, i had to say it was pretty eventful during those 3 days.

on thursday night itself, i gathered people who meant a lot to my bro to surprise him.
it all happened through facebook "Events" page. almost got a heart attack when i ALMOST CLICKED on bro's name.
i had to brief mom since she gets things easier and then she'll take charge on how to get us all organized. and this was not an easy peasy job.
she didn't get what i said on monday. so i told her again on tuesday. she admitted that if she didn't understand how the plan flows, she would've told my bro what i'm up to.
i panicked and every single moment we would be talking about the surprise party!
she briefed dad on thursday morning.
we left home for "family dinner".
mom's idea that worked :
i would go to the restaurant while dad, mom and bro finds a parking slot.
and then i would call mom to say that i don't have tissue in the toilet upstairs.
so my mom would make my bro send tissues to me.

it worked well! voila, he was walking up the stairs and said : tissues? *while holding the tissues my mom gave*
he saw me sitting with Adeline and smiled. and then everyone shouted : SURPRISE!!
he was really shocked to see so many people gathered :)

on friday, i had BK class for 3 hours. rushed back to head for KLIA.
i actually made a bet with my mom. (just a play bet thing)
that i believed she's gonna start the tears rolling first. and then followed by me. and then dad.
boy, i was wrong! she started, dad followed and then me!!
and it was at home she was already choking! :O
so we had the usual trip to McD's in the airport to you know... relax, chit chat and to wipe our tears away!
am so glad bro's wonderful friends came to send him off. really appreciate it that you all were there for him!

right after, we headed to a really beautiful resort : Golden Palm Tree Resort ; for Family Retreat!

and that was in the midst of my trials. i had another paper to go : Physics!
thank God for the wonderful friends to tutor me in camp!! :D

2 Weeks of not enough sleeppp...

i feel like my brain's gonna explode because i have not enough sleep!
trials started last week and sleeping hours were always less than 5 hours...even on weekends!!
had Add Maths today and my brain's gonna burst. was so tired that i almost slept off doing the questions! i really pray i do well or else... :O
thank God for strength and wisdom :))

i've asked Adeline to help me get those when she was in UK! very worth it!
and her tastes are similar to mine :)

postcard~arrived on 8th Sept. from Adeline as well :)

i bought this in Book Fest and i realized that it took over the place of all my reference books.
thus, i decided to give it to Adeline to hide it away from me.
after my first day of trials, i texted asking her to read and tell me the conclusion...but she won't! :/

it's gonna be a looonggg weeek this week too..*will tell soon!

P.A.N, ; Grandma's B'day cum Bro's Farewell.

we had the Parents' Appreciation Night last Saturday.

a week before that event, the skit team has been giggling all over while practicing. you can actually hear my laughter every single time! :O

and then when Saturday came, you should see the stress on some of our faces. i panicked. i was scared, nervous, etc etc.

but i thank God that everything went well. it was really good. i teared a bit at some point and i could see some parents were tearing away.

this was when the youths served the first dish. :)

went to eat the leftovers at other tables. ;)

had yum-cha after that.

went home and knocked out flat.

Sunday morning came and it was time for worship. thank God i could keep my eyes open.

then we headed to Klang for awesome seaaaafoooodddd! :)

came home, rested awhile, and it was time for another dinner with Uncle Amos and family!

by the time Monday came, i was all so tired.

had class, then to Book Fest and then dinner!

this was just barely an hour there and we started filling those baskets up.

really worth it!

a friend posted this on facebook today and i thought, WOW!

History is a record of wisdom. Of folly. It tells us that the proud eventually will be humbled - and that all of our days are numbered. It reminds us that the newest, hottest and edgiest quickly become the dated, discarded and passe. Most importantly, it testifies to the hand of God, moving across generations to call a people unto himself.

God is definitely there. He is speaking in various ways to me.

and assures me that I / We have to depend on Him.

After all...

i went for my "interview". it was really nice of them to listen to my points and even thought of giving me allowance!

however, last Tuesday, 16th August, i receive a call from Miss Hilda.

after having argue bout my age, i decided, (there and then) to let her know :

well, i guess it's not fair for me to deprive others of this chance. i can always get to go next year, probably after my birthday.

she said : when one door closes, the other opens.

which other doors? i don't know.

i've lots of plans after my exams. i know i should be 'nailing' on my weak subjects now, but it's always good to think ahead. :)

i realized (since about 3 years ago), i'm more people-centered than career-minded.

i enjoy working / interacting with people.

building lives is what i feel so passionate about. :)

this month, we've speakers to speak to us about Missions. and really, my heart was moved by 2 speakers..

to get out of our comfort zone is something big for most.

however, i put my confidence in God that indeed this generation is gonna be another generation of faith ; where we will rise up and seek His face.

other than that, the after-SPM plans are all in our minds. :)

anyways, during this whole Muslims fasting month, i've been to the bazaar regularly and i liked it so much. i mean, this is the thing my whole family (more like it's me only) looks forward to.

the fooooodddd is so yumsssss!

this is the best-selling food there : Roti Boom. :)

and you need to take numbers just to place your orders.

last week, we celebrated Miss M's birthday. it was pretty good :)

i chose this super cute card for her. *claps*

we had egg tarts, drinks, pork buns, and chocolate cake with M&Ms.

thanks to Aunty Agnes for helping get the food and to all parents that contributed!

there's so much i wanna share, but it's a lil' more personal and private... should i privatise this blog again? hmmmm.

however, i'm here just to say :

i'm very stressed up this whole week due to my "interview" this coming Sunday.

see, i was called back (if you've read previous posts... my application got rejected) last week.

and now, i'm asked to answer some questions.

well, i see it in this way, if it's really His will, then He'll carry me through it.

on another note, i've realized how numbered my days are to SPM. it's bad, coz i'm only beginning to study hard. it's good, coz i'm not realizing this to late!

Of sickness and joy!

i've been missing out on blogging for 2 weeks already!

see, i got sick last week. really wanted to support the BERSIH 2.0 rally but i had to be in bed for 15 HOURS.

good sleep = good mood. i was really sleepy after 15 hours of rest. :O

and up till today i'm still down with flu, cough and sore throat. :(

besides all that, i've something to give thanks to God for.

the buzz went round on Sunday night when Dian texted me asking if i got into National Service (NS) or not.

came home and checked. couldn't even logged into the website due to human traffic jam all anxious wanting to know their results.

mom was repeating this for 3 times : it's ok. just check tomorrow morning.

and i was still so stubborn till i gave up checking.

dad was like : well, let's pray.

and yes, our prayers were heard :)

i did not get into NS.

Praise God!

and i had my dose of Snowflake today with mom..

there's no more Japan! Combo. thus, i tried their new flavour : Sesame Sensation.

it's quite ok but i still prefer Japan! Combo.

i'm a happy happy girl ;)

It's July tomorrow.

time flies. there's another 137 days left and the pressure is even greater right now.

i can feel my heart beating faster these days. stress yo! :/

anyhow, i got the news yesterday that my application was rejected :(

why? i'm underage.

i've typed back and they haven't replied.

only revealed the situation to my parents today.

mom's first question : how come you didn't cry?

me : hahaha. i don't know why. but i guess it's His will.

yeah, i got to be stronger.

oh, we had our Career Week this week. (i'm gonna miss school!)

Mr Reuben Chan gave a talk on "What's Next After SPM?" to the Form 5s' yesterday and it was great! felt so relieved from all the questions my parents asks when bringing up tertiary education stuffs to them. (my bro do help sometimes in answering those questions)

and today, we had the Education Exhibition, where multiple colleges / universities are here to promote what they've got.

and Kor Calvin was there. he told me that i should go to his booth quick to get his college's merchandise.

i told him i couldn't get down so early coz every class has different time slots.

however, today, our class got to go down during Add Maths period.

got my super nice bag from his college. :)

i gained loads of info on International Baccalaureate program offered by Sri KDU.

pretty interesting, actually.

bro : why not just do it in ISKL?

me : it's 100K!!!

other brochures and 1 extra bag from the exhibition.

on another note, i don't know when, but i believe it's gonna be soon, where i can openly, confidently declare what my calling is.

it's hard now, coz those tears would just come, just wait.

all the Form 5s can choose what career talk they wanna go for. i chose to go for Psychology talk tomorrow.

Nihon Day 12.

woke up at 5 am.

repacked and got my luggage down. weighed it and it's 23KG!

exceeded the limit by 3 KG.

i prayed very hard that i really would not have to pay for those 3 KGs.

repacked a lil again and surrendered everything to God.

GOOD MORNING, NARITA!

first time i see paper cups used in a hotel. :O

my last breakfast in Japan.

see, people from different country departed different times.

so, our group, CM 10, were really nice, as most of them got up early to say goodbye to us. :)

took our last few pictures and it was time to leave for the airport.

in the airport, while queueing up, we were informed that our tour guides negotiated with the staffs in the check in department and they agreed to allow group check-in for us!

Praise God!

one suitcase. and one bag.

good plane food!

one whole trolley for my bags. and i'm carrying another bag on my shoulder. :)

Good Evening, Kuala Lumpur!

there were 2 buses to fetch us back to the hotel for Post-Return Orientation.

our bus broke down. and it took like a whole hour or more for the first bus (which dropped all the others in the hotel earlier) to come and pick us up.

see, God was good. one of our chaperon received a big packet filled with MAS peanuts.

and Zai got orange juices from the air-stewardess!

that were our snacks while waiting.

reached the hotel and quickly ate dinner. called mom to buy me Nasi Lemak. (i miss M'sian food, yo!)

went for Post-Return Orientation and looked half-dead.

i think we got into our rooms at about past 10pm.

had Ching and Miao En as my roommates again! :)

chatted, showered, blow dry my hair, and slept!

the next day Post-Return Orientation was basically about how to overcome our "missing Japan sickness".

and that's about it! i've finished blogging bout this whole Japan trip that i was blessed with! :)

Nihon Day 11.

OUR VERY LAST DAY AND NIGHT WITH OUR OVERSEAS' FRIENDS!! :(

woke up several times in the night due to stress. the DANCEEEE! :O

woke up at 3 something, then 4 something and then 5 something and gave up trying to get back to sleep by 6!

all the performers had to get down for breakfast by 7 AM!

someone should've taken our faces at the breakfast table.. all so sleepy and moody.

some were so sweet to wake up early with us just to see us off!

travelled to this hall (i forgotten the name) for our rehearsal.

while our non-performer friends were happily touring Tokyo,

we were all practicing our steps.

i don't get why the photo don't turn out well here.

anyways, that was the stage where each country has representatives to perform a dance / sing a song from their country.

i would say Malaysia performers did VERY well. looking at our hours of practice.

last minute panic moments and all.

GOOD JOB, GUYS!

after our Festival, we had our Pre-Return Orientation too.

took loads of pictures and off we are to our last hotel : Marroad International Hotel.

once i reached the hotel, i weighed my luggage and it was 25 KG!

Nihon Day 10.

woke up as usual and continued packing. i packed some stuffs yesterday. and it took a lot of strength out of me. i was really tired. that's because the bags were all bursting! and the shopping bags were all over my host sis' room! :(

i seriously struggled.

breakfast. the cakes were from the wedding.

like each family will get a box of two cakes.

and i got one for myself :)

can't afford to take them back to KL. (no space in my luggage!)

my host dad, and my two brothers purposely woke up early just to say goodbye.

however, they waited quite awhile as i struggled packing.

said a quick goodbye.

and got into the car for school.

carried all my bags into school and said goodbye to host mom.

i didn't meant to start tearing away, but it just flowed.

after entering the computer lab, Sarah came and she was crying too.

so, practically, there were 2 crying queens.

Sarah : Kit May, you'd better stop. or else i won't.

Me : Sarah, you stop first. i can't.

Wiah and Naomi got the "crying germs" and started too.

*ooopsss*

if you've read earlier posts, i said that my principal was away.

and he came back just in time before we leave for Tokyo. :(

so, he had an official assembly in front of the whole school to bid us farewell.

how sweet!

we were up on stage. :)

and the 2 most famous people in our group : "Harry Potter" and Max, gave a speech.

Max spoke in English, and Mitch translated it.

after the crying / hugging moments, we had to rush up the bus coz we have a flight to catch.

on the way to Miyazaki airport.

the dimensions of one's luggage / bag... i thanked God mine could be checked in!

bento set that we received before we boarded up the plane.

most of us were dead tired, that we just ate a lil' and put it aside to get some rest before a long night begins!

i woke up in the plane to see the chopsticks on my lap.

was really tired, that i couldn't even lift a pair of chopsticks... :/

the plane ride took about 90 minutes.

reached Tokyo and checked into one of the best hotels you can ever get in Tokyo...

Nihon Day 9.

i was told that we had to really get up early, because today, we're gonna travel to a far far away land. :) got up about 6am.

because of hosting me, host parents had to use two cars to travel anywhere with me along. both their cars have 5-seats only and there's no escape if you're caught breaking the rules in Japan..

we stopped by grandma's place which was about few minutes drive.

met my host grandparents for the first time!! :)

embarrassing moment : i bowed to them when i first stepped into the house. i was so shy. :O

host grandma pushed my back lower when i was coming up from bowing.

apparently, i didn't bow low enough.

the lower you bow = the more respect you show.

(my back hurts, coz i wasn't used to it)

helped out in carrying stuffs into the van that would take us all to the hotel.

see, they have cows in their farm next to their house.

while walking past, the cow moo-ed at me and i screamed. (it was early in the morning. i barely can see the cows. the only sign that shows that they were cows was the smell of cow dunk, or so i assume it smells like that.) yeah, close friends know how deafening my scream could be.

everyone just stopped in their tracks and turn and ask : ARE YOU OK?

i was like : oh, yes, i am!!

after loading everything in, off we are for the wedding party! :)

had our hairdo. (only host mom didn't join in with grandma, Ouka and me.)

kimono that i wore.. with the help of a hotel assistant.

it's not easy to wear one on your own. it takes a lot of strength to wrap the cloths tight around your body.

it was quite a short ceremony.

went to the hotel's studio for some photographs.

overall, we had awesome food!! :)

after lunch, headed to change our clothes, and off back home.

as it was my first and last time meeting host grandparents (for now), host grandma was really sad to see my go.

they were all excited when i said : "i'll come back".

i've awesome friends everywhere i go. it's either because they're all so funny or i'm the charming one. thankyou.

in tuition, while learning a crazy topic, Shannie scribbled a note for me :

OMG. her nails! (and drew an arrow pointing to the front)

i started giggling off because i knew what she was trying to say.

see, last week, i noticed that this particular girl has "fantastic nails". it's extra long, sharp and colourful!

truth is, the colours didn't suit her.

Shannie added : "walao. the colour." HAHAHAHA.

needless to say, we were giggling off in the midst of learning. it's quite funny.

and i bumped into her today, laughing bout the same thing again.

anyways, next on,something i find funny when things are not :

i'm being all so nice for helping my brother get good deals for his jerseys.

so my friend texted : Home or away?

and i replied : ? I'm home...

and then he explained that it was a jersey question. not a venue question.

Nihon Day 8.

woke up fresh and ready for another exciting day! :)

host mom was going "FASTER!" . she wanted us to get ready quick because we're going out and the journey is quite long.

host dad and second brother went out super early for football!

the electronic device that is so helpful to all host families :)

here we are! at the foothill of Mount Sakurajima. :)

however, the weather hindered us from going up. :/

how i wish i might be able to daydream for hours there!

next, we dropped by UNIQLO!

it's wayyyy cheaper than the one in KL.

had TAKOYAKI for lunch.

got back home. rested. and then out for shopping, again :p

back home, we've dinner as a family. host mom made DIY SUSHI!!

blogging makes me miss all the food i had there :(

second day of schoool!! wore a baju kurung. bought it purposely for this trip and of course i chose pink ;)

met host dad and he's really nice. he tries to communicate in English and i tried in Japanese.

in a way, our communication is quite funny. we struggled, but we understood what each wanted to say.

Nihon Day 6.

woke up at about 6am? and ate breakfast.

culture shock : eat first. then brush your teeth.

i just followed my host sis. didn't bother asking why. it's quite ok though.

you guys should try that.

host mom dropped us off in front of the school. (normally, host sis walks to school.)

yes, i'm so blessed to be in the midst of a generous, loving, caring host family :)

we (the exchange students) were placed in the computer lab.

first Japanese keyboard i laid hands on.

we had to go in and introduce ourselves in front of all the teachers in the teachers' morning meeting.

then,

we were taken around for a school tour by a Japanese teacher who teaches English.

so, after that, we went to English classes to help the Japanese students improve their English communication skills.

basically, the students are all in small groups of 6 each. each of us join one group and introduce ourselves.

the common question : do you have a boyfriend?

some said : you're single?

LOL! :)

had recess at about 12.30pm.

as most of you might know, i'm sort of a shopaholic.

sort of because i shop when it's cheap, nice, or attractive.

i do save a lot by comparing prices ok!

so, i haven't been spending much since being in Japan.

God has His own reasons for placing me in a school where there's so many shops opposite it!!

it tastes real good.

Nihon Day 5.

when i left for Japan, i never knew where my host family is.

i was NEVER informed till the day i reached Japan... i found out that i will spend less than a week in Kagoshima, somewhere south of Japan. i was so scared that i will never have a host family... and that's like the highlight of the whole trip.

was really nervous throughout the whole of last night. that's because i'll be meeting my host family today!! however, being a sleeping beauty, i managed to sleep through although our room lights were on. :)

in fact, we were very sleepy by the time it was about 11pm.. we had assignments to do. yes, paperwork, ok!

and i wrote my heart out. but i don't think i wanna share that here. *shy*

after breakfast, got up the bus that takes human...

and headed for...

he is the A-bomb survivor that gave us a talk before dinner yesterday.

he shared his experience.. in Japanese / English? i forgot!! :(

it's quite cool to have someone talking bout his past and how he and others went through that period of time.

i hope i can do the same for my grandkids / great-grandkids!

after visiting the museum, we took a walk in the park.

beware of dogs' poo!!

shopped a lil' here. mainly foodstuffs.

now... we're all up for our bus ride to Kagoshima.

that's our lunch in the bus.

i was sitting beside Wiah, and i slept quite awhile.

opened my eyes a few times when we stopped by rest houses.

and to snap some beautiful scenery!

all in all, we took less than 6 hours to reach the school.

at about 6pm.

our welcoming speech by the Vice-Principal.

it was in English. written with help by an English teacher.

our Principal was in Australia at that time. (if i'm not mistaken)

after that... it was meeting out hosts' siblings!

basically, our siblings are from that school.

that's why we were dropped off to their school.

when it was my turn, i said :

"Hi. i'm Kit May. i'm from Malaysia.... and i have no idea who my host is."

and a girl came up to me and said, "I AM!"

you can actually imagined how relieved i was! :)

she gave me a big hug once we were out of the classroom.

took a stroll in a park nearby. with all the beautiful lightings.

yeah, that's my host sis! :)

had our welcome party in a nearby Japanese style restaurant.

and yes, i've to sit and eat properly, coz that was my first impression for my host family.

host dad was working and i'll only see him in 2 days' time!

as for now, i've 2 younger host brothers who are very funny and nice.

host mom is all so cheery :)

Nihon Day 4.

woke up early again :)

i shivered after my shower.. it was really cold! grrrr.

buffet-style breakfast.

we're all separated from our other CM group friends because we are heading to meet our host families! as for my group and some other groups, we headed up the bus and to Hiroshima train station. and from there, we'll go to Hakata and transit to Nagasaki.

the bus waited for us there. the picture above is Chinese favorite number.

then we headed for this bus stop where all the other buses are waiting for us. each bus was assigned to the place where your host will be, ie, Nagasaki, Miyazaki, Kagoshima, etc etc.

our friends went up their buses just to place their things.

as for me, the Kagoshima bus, didn't arrive till like half an hour later.

when it arrived, there were some exchange students from Philippines, Switzerland and Thailand.

we all put our stuffs in that bus, got down, and headed for Glover Garden with the others.

it was raining. thus, our trip there wasn't so pleasant. :(

i really had no idea what this garden was all about.

till i came back. and Googled it. :O

the hotel floors are quite weird in the sense that 3rd floor was the lobby.

and basement was where the dining hall was.

it was relatively a small hotel.

yes, the room is really really small.

and they're 6 in one room.

Nihon Day 3.

i woke up at 5.30am this time!! *it's hard without mommy.*

and managed to do my quiet time and watch the sunrise :)

i feel that it's so nice of the hotel to put up this signs on the food which contains pork.

if you don't put the picture but just words, probably, most people might

eat it without knowing.

headed out for Peace Memorial Park.

we have read so much bout whatever that has happened in Hiroshima's history. but never really felt what it was like to be there, with them.

i found out the Best feature in my camera and tried it with this building!

it's so pretty! :)

Disaster Reduction Centre aka BOHSAI CENTRE.

we were welcomed by him in Japanese and someone translated it for us.

the workers there showed us a demo of a 'fire' happening in a 'building'.

it's the coolest demo ever!

firstly, we were trained how to run out of a building.

we ran through the staircases of BOHSAI CENTRE building while

smoke was emitted to give a real fire effect.

and then it was time to ride in the fire truck.

and we're taken round the building.

and someone will sit in front to shout through the loudspeaker "FIRE!"

learning how to put out fire.

i'm not being prejudice or what, but i somehow feel safer in Japan doing a fire drill.

so organized.

a model kitchen.

the earthquake machine.

it would give the kitchen an earthquake... depending on how much richter you want.

2 of us would go up and experience what a 'real earthquake' was and

learned how to protect ourselves.

as for me, that really was my first time.

up into the bus and on to...

we were given an assignment to look for answers in the museum. history facts.

we've limited time, thus we needed to be fast.

with a camera in hand, there we were.

all clicking what we assume are the answers.

i find this unique.

we have french fries in almost every meal. (except lunches)

Nihon Day 2.

my roommates in Japan were all the time Malaysian friends : Najihah and Zai... except my second last night.

both Jihah and i trusted Zai to wake us up. she set her alarm to wake up early and pray.

yes, she did wake up. and prayed. and best part : she slept back. :O

when i woke up, i almost JUMPED out of my bed. WE WERE LATE!! :O

i was thinking : die la. if the bus leaves us, we will be so embarrassed! :/

and it's our first day touring around! plus, Japanese look at first impressions, ok!

so we brushed up, packed up, (thank God i did some packing last night), and rushed out of our rooms! and i didn't shower. (who cares!)

i really thanked God because there were so many people on our floor queueing up for the lift.

as the lift is quite small, and everyone has big suitcases, the lift has to work extra hard.

mind you, there were 600+ people in the same hotel.

you can imagine what happens if all the lifts broke down. *faints*

if you're wondering, yes, we move from hotel to hotel.

the first thing we've to do in the morning,

have our temperatures checked. and recorded.

to ensure no one is spreading flu / cough / etc.

buffet-style breakfast! :)

i super love the milk with cereals. tasted wayyy better than the quality of milk back in Malaysia.

and the fruit cocktail was just nice.

not too sweet!

the weather was about 17-18 degrees.

everyone from every country were separated into 2 different groups :

1. Asian Mix group. AM 1-6.

2. Country Mix group. CM 1-10.

AM were the high class ones. and pretty less fun than us! their tours are mostly bout educational ones. (at first, i wished i was in that group.... till i found out. i thanked God for what He has given!) and each country has only a few students.

everyone has to prepare some cultural / economical stuffs bout their countries to present to others!

CM groups were all bout fun as well as learning. i was in CM 10. with 4 other M'sian girls :)

it's a Japanese pancake with loads of vegetables, meat, egg and noodles.

because every single soul in Jenesys has to taste this, everyone goes to this building / another on different days.

depending which group each one is in.

and everyone is separated into different shops in order to have our food cooked fast.

like each restaurant takes 20 persons?

i feel it's good coz all the restaurants earn the same amount of $.

mine. i finished everything :)

it's not good to leave leftovers. *i was hungryyy!*

vanilla ice-cream.

you can taste the difference of this with other basic vanilla ice-creams found in M'sia.

now, i feel BR is too sweet.

Nihon Day 1.

my neighbour in the plane was Miao En! she was also my roommate in Pre-D camp with Chee Ching :)

my supper.

it wasn't really tasty.. thus, i skipped their breakfast.

and regretted later!

the view.

our flight took off at 11.45pm and we reached Kansai at about 7.15 am (Japan's time is an hour earlier than M'sian time).

we were greeted by 1 Jenesys volunteer and 2 tour guides.

the very first vending machine i see in Kansai airpot.

recycling bins everywhere.

pay toll station.

the weather was perfect!

we stopped here. for 15 minutes.

headed for Otsu Prince Hotel. left our suitcases there and went to Royal Oak Hotel.

the Japanese volunteers are very creative.

every time they write an announcement, they'll insert some cute drawings.

we went back to the hotel. and waited for hours for the others to arrive... their flights were delayed. :(

most of the M'sian students were sleeping on their chairs. and i was one of them!

there was a comment made : "If you wanna see the M'sian students, you'll just see them sleeping." and the others laughed. (i shall not mention where he came from)

i was actually hearing it, coz i haven't sleep yet. :/

then, we had our Arrival Orientation.

met our Japanese doctor. our AFS Japan National Director. and our volunteers.

went back to Otsu Prince Hotel. had our buffet-style dinner.

and time to sleeeeep!

wore it as my pajamas.

that basically sums up my first day!

alarm set! and we're all excited to go out tomorrow!!

i know it's been months since i came back, and never blogged bout the whole trip completely!

so, i've decided to thank the Japanese government by relating bout my trip here!

it started off with the Pre-Departure camp. it was held in Hotel Maluri.

i would say the hotel was quite ok. not too bad.

2-3rd December, we were all thought about the cultures of the Japanese and the do's and dont's.

as i would be leaving on the 3rd night, i struggled to pack. literally. there were so many things to bring. and for me, my whole wardrobe was inside the luggage.

mom was screaming bout how heavy it was, how expensive it would be to pay for overweight, et etc.

i was supposed to take a giant luggage and a mini one. 2. plus my handbag.

in Pre-D camp, i cut off my stuffs. the jackets and all.

it was said that Jenesys provides winter clothing. :)

i went to KLIA by bus. with some others whom didn't have transport.

it was a Friday evening. thus, i didn't want dad and mom to stress out by having to drive through the jams.

while waiting to check-in, i prayed so hard!

we were comparing our luggages by carrying one another's.

and everyone said mine's gonna be over the weight limit : 20KG.

thank God, he heard my prayers and granted 20.0 KG perfect on the scale! :)

now, how am i suppose to shop? when there's surely no space left inside?

and remember, Jenesys provides winter clothings.

so happen the train to the other side of the airport, you know, the aeroplanes there, was going through some renovations. so, we had buses to ride on! *my first time using this* i super like the trains. but sadly, it was under some reno!

that's a random headline. hasn't got to do with my post here. and i shouldn't be blogging now since it's exams week. but i'm just too stressed up. will blog bout that soon.

it's 2 weeks since birthday week. as usual, the family dinner. (i'm not boasting here. it's the usual one we have for birthday people in the family. yes, i thank God for the people placed in my life.)

we went to The Loaf, Pavilion.

complimentary bread.

see, mom has been scouting out where to dine for my birthday. she decided to dine in there coz she was interested in trying the new menu.

Meat Loaf : salad + main course + dessert + drink = RM 19.90++

my ice lemon tea.

this was dad's.

i ordered the same thing too.

meat : beef.

sauce : Japanese curry.

side dish : Japanese rice.

why i chose this combo was because i wanted to have a taste of Japanese curry and rice again.

nothing beats the original curry and rice made and cooked in Japan!

it was quite good though.

and some weird sauce that tastes alright.

brother's.

potatoes as side dish.

beef with curry.

bimbotic moment : i couldn't figure out how to shake this salt-shaker.

and my bro didn't offer any help.

neither did he want to help.

thank God the waiter noticed and ask if i needed help.

that's when my bro started laughing.

dessert.

it's strawberries with watermelon in orange juice.

very fruity.

after the dessert, i rushed to snowflake, only to see it closed. :(

all in all, it's quite good! :)

parents made up for the Snowflake on Monday. which was a public holiday.

SIXTEEN GOING ON SEVENTEEN! :)

yes, another year to celebrate His goodness towards me.

i think it's so blessed to even have the whole school marching, cheering, screaming on this special day! (ALL FOR ME!!)

MY SCHOOL SPORTS DAY WAS ON TODAYYY!

and earlier this year, i actually made up my mind not to attend.

but just 2 days ago, i was rambling to my mom about how i've kept a cool record in high school by attending all 4 annual sports day and how uncool it was to break the record by NOT attending. see, i only attended sports day ONCE in primary. and that's it.

yes, i'm not into sports.

talk about people. talk about life. i'm into that. but NOT sports. or athletics. or whatever related.

however, in my school, everyone's so committed to whatever they're participating in.

thus, the school spirit is very strong here.

i'm in the green house, Xavier.

last year, we didn't fair well.

however, we made a huge leap by winning march pass and cheer (again!!) this year. and yes, we're the CHAMPIONS!!!

XAVIER IS HOT TO GO!

the theme for this year was "MONSTERS."

thank God for perfect weather.

so what did i do on this day, besides going for sports day?

i went to tuition. :O (i have no other days to replace my classes).

i went for youth. and did a Bible Quiz. and realized soon after, i will never obtain a perfect 100% score :(

i personally typed 'thank you' wishes to everyone who wished me via FB or sms. didn't copy paste ok!

i disturbed my brother. (this day comes once in a year only!!) and spammed his FB status. ;)

i watched the royal wedding vows over and over again.

i ate McD's. (i'd better stop)

i daydreamed. thinking of which prince to look for. *wink*

Royal Wedding!!

okay, if you're my friend on FB, you would understand what i was going through.

the royal wedding was ongoing and my BK test has to clash on the same dayyy!!

at one point, i felt like choking myself cause i needed to revise. and with my brains, i managed to get Kit Yoong to go watch it. (hahaha, she was lucky to leave comments on my status!!) on the way for the test, i made sure i text her to tell her to watch it. she was surprised to receive my text. fyi, it was in my to-do list in my phoneee!! :)

i ran for my train after test. i even wanted to give up doing the test at some point. (yes, it was hard!) i was afraid Ms. M might ask : why are you rushing off so early?

and in my brains, i did not want to be caught lying to her.

so, i obediently sat down till time was over and ran out asap.

i tried calling mom to make sure she's watching it. i even told her not to cook, so that she can watch it. unfortunately, she couldn't hear her phone ringing away.

so i called home, and ask my bro if she was watching it.

he was so mad, that i decided to just say bye.

few stops before i reached home, i texted my brother : i'm here already.

truth is, it was like another 7 minutes to reach.

in the car, he asked : what's your definition of "here already?"

and then he went on : i'm hungry. i want to stop at McD's.

i almost burst crying!!

i reached home, quickly placed my butt on the sofa and watched.

to my disappointment, they only shared 2 SHORT KISSES ON THE BALCONY!!

i'm really praying their marriage will last!!

oh, i think they chose a perfect day to remember!

WORLD, TOMORROW IS MY BIRTHDAYYYY! :)

Good Friday & Easter Special.

we went for Good Friday service in our previous church, JIC.

the speaker was Dr Daniel Wong (from Malacca and Life Chapel).

the sermon : Before The Cross. the main topic for this weekend will be An Unexpected Turn Of Events.

he was really good. i like his pronunciation, annunciation, diction, etc! he caught my attention by just the way he speaks!

fyi, i can't stay awake if the speaker is boring. my mind will wander off to MayMayLand.

he took us back Luke 23 : 26-56. i thanked God for bringing me to read about Jesus' Crucifixion just 3 days ago. oh, how my memory was refreshed! :)

in conclusion, he urged us to take our faith to the next level... something that i always hear from dad.

it was nice catching up with Shern Li. :)

after the service, we went for supper opposite church.

(i don't think i should post other people's pics... since i didn't ask permission.)

so, skip this if you don't wanna see me.

and made sure that Mr. H. got the cat too!

we were checking our Physics PEKA reports today. and on one report, he wrote : "DON'T BLUFF" on the results section.

during discussion, he mentioned my name and Nana's. ohmygoodness :(

well, in that report, it was particularly tough to draw the nice graph.

he went on "did i ask for a perfect graph?"

"on your construct 5, it's about honesty and integrity. so, it's up to me to give you all how much."

What happens today, it's for a reason.

had a rough week. it was really a crazy ride for me as i had some issues to handle with. especially CF.

today, we had a seminar on how to answer History questions in our major public exam.

it was really impressive and the speaker, Mr. Shiva made it ever so interesting to learn something i never liked.

of course, every wise man would use this ground as a business opportunity. he promoted a seminar to score A+.

the teachers mentioned for the seminar sounded promising.

it's on 8th and 15th May. on SUNDAYS. during mid-term examinations.

just 2 weeks ago and last year, Miss M talked about the Sabbath. as for us Christians, Sabbath is a rest day to honor our Creator. yes, Sundays. and she challenged us, to keep aside ALL the seminars / tuitions / whatever else, so that we can worship God on Sundays.

yes, you can say i could go to church the following week, but that means i'm not taking a break through the whole week and giving thanks to Him.

Miss M also gave us an article which we read together in class. that article is entitled : What's So Special About the Sabbath? here.

when we ignore Sabbath, we are in effect saying that we are the creator. Ignoring the Sabbath is surrendering to the anxiety that God will not provide.

question is : if i attend the seminar, am i saying to God that nothing else is more important than the predicted questions and tips? that He cannot provide wisdom, strength and all that is needed to face my examinations?

yes. i think so.

and coincidentally, (God is amazing!!) my quiet time with Him this morning, was about Abraham, when his faith was tested. Genesis 21-22 : Abraham's faith was vindicated. in Genesis 23-24, Abraham's faith was verified.

in Abraham's life, we can see that the timing of the Creator of time is always perfect.

the key issue was obedience.

Only in obedience can we discover the great joy of the will of God.

am i willing to obey God and keep His Sabbath holy?

even before telling this to my dad, i knew what his answer would be.

i broke down telling this to mom. mom said it was up to me.

my parents let us make the decisions ourselves.

through this, they see how we think, whether we set our priorities right, and when needed, they would give their piece of mind to us.

in my heart, i knew that i cannot go without that abiding peace in God.

you may say it's a big sacrifice, but i'm sure it's not.

FORM 5 INTER-CLASS DRAMA COMPETITION FINALS.

yes, it's a tradition in CBN to have inter-class drama competition amongst the form 5 classes every year during Language Week.

so, my class, 5U, made it to the finals alongside with 3 other classes. :)

what happened was, we changed our script, props and cast right after semi finals.

and that drove all of us to the wall for 2 weeks.

of course, most parents made a lot of noise about staying back too much in school.

mom wasn't too happy when i had her fetching me later day by day.

if you're thinking whether i was part of the cast or not, stop guessing. yes, i was... playing the lead role. forced to. but am happy to contribute to my class' drama.

as for semis, i was part of the props team. and you'd no idea how tiring it was for doing all the props.

and as for finals, i was both in the cast and props team. but primarily practiced on acting.

we had to spend an hour or so helping out in props on Wednesday .

drama finals was yesterday.

to be honest, i was truly happy with what we achieved... considering the fact that we changed everything 2 weeks before finals.

thus, we won BEST PROPS AND SPECIAL EFFECTS.

i'm truly thankful for my supportive parents, who didn't scold me that much (yet) for staying back in school till the evening and sending me right to the doorstep on Friday morning as i had 4 bags to carry, my wonderful teachers who let us practiced and prepare props during their lesson periods, my ever so fabulous classmates who trusted in me to play the lead role (i wasn't even sure of myself), my brother who continuously gave me motivation by cheering me up, and to God, who knew what was best for me!

to my scriptwriter, thank you Nana, for 'giving birth' to the script, through 1 whole night.

and to the editors, Syiqin, Dian and myself, great job people!! :)

and also, to my director, Mei Wern for putting so much effort into this.

to my creative director, Harshiah, for training all of us well.

see, when my director went to draw lots as to which class performs first,

i prayed throughout last weekend that God would grant us no.1 and He did.

thus, i knew i needed a friend to be my 'Personal Assistant' and Nadhra agreed!

you can imagine how panicky she was when i panicked. :)

i really salute you for putting heaps of effort.

you really did made the sound effects so real for us.

and thank you for giving me straightforward comments and ideas.

my make-up artist who insisted that i should have make-up on.

this is just a lil' bit of what we went through.

TO EVERYONE IN PROPS, GREAT EFFORT!!! :)
